Estudiantes en este curso aprenderán un sinnúmero de frases necesarias; algunas bases de la gramática española, y por lo consiguiente adicionales técnicas de ortografía. De hecho, estos elementos son primordialmente necesarios para defenderse en el lugar de trabajo y/ o en algunas de las más importantes actividades que transcienden en la vida diaria de todos y cada uno de ellos.

Class of Spanish 400

Students in this course will learn a number of necessary phrases; some bases of the Spanish grammar, and consequently additional spelling techniques. In fact, these elements are fundamentally necessary to defend themselves in the workplace and / or in some of the most important activities that transcend everyday life.


This course is designed to help you to reach the most important stage of your PhD journey: Your Dissertation. The objectives of this course are to focusing you on any aspect of the multiple events that enclosures this magnificent cornerstone and, step by step, guide you and support you while exploring your skills and capacity to successfully complete your dissertation in your chosen discipline. Afterwards, you will be ready to present your found results through an original piece of content that will provide additional value to the scientific community and to the body of knowledge.

NOTE: THIS COURSE IS NOT DESIGNED TO WRITE/EDIT YOUR DISSERTATION, NOR IT IS DESIGNED TO CONDUCT YOUR QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH!!!


INGLÉS PARA HISPANOPARLANTES está diseñado para estudiantes principiantes sin experiencia previa en inglés. Los objetivos principales de este curso son ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar habilidades de comunicación efectivas en inglés mediante el desarrollo elemental de las siguientes necesidades básicas de lenguaje: Comprensión Auditiva, Expresión Oral, Lectura, y Escritura, mientras se enfocan y examinan críticamente creencias culturales, valores humanos, interacciones diarias, y sobretodo sólidos aspectos socioeconómicos-socioculturales de la vida cotidiana en los Estados Unidos de América.


MA201—STATISTICS [SPSS]

This course is intended to deliver a working knowledge with SPSS. Students are not expected to have previous programming or “highly” statistical analysis skills. But, a basic understanding of statistical functions is necessary. The emphasis in this course will be upon understanding statistical concepts and applying and interpreting tests of statistical inference. Content will include but not be limited to: data and data files, data screening, scaling, visual representations of data, descriptive statistics, correlation and simple regression, sampling distributions, and the assumptions associated with and the application of selected inferential statistical procedures, which includes: T-tests, chi-square, and one-way ANOVA. This course will not cover advanced statistical methods, but will provide student with a firm foundation to address these areas in his/her dissertation research. A working knowledge of SPSS statistical software is a vital skill for anyone involved in quantitative research.  Students will develop the fundamental skills needed to prepare data sets for analysis, and to conduct simple descriptive and graphic analyses and report those analyses. Computer software (SPSS) will be employed to assist in the analysis of data for this course.

 


MA101—STATISTICS FUNDAMENTALS

This course is designed for students required to take a statistics course or who have a specific interest in statistics. This course is especially tailored to students who are looking for a "beginners’" course to satisfy the statically knowledge required to succeed on the Quantitative Analysis of his/her dissertation. PhD Learners are encouraged to take this course.

NOTE:  Math 100 (Basic Algebra) is a prerequisite for this course. However, in especial conditions, some arrangement could be make. Be aware that this is NOT a SPSS’s class.

SPSS class is offered alternatively.


SPANISH [ESPAÑOL] FOR ANGLO-AMERICANS is designed for the beginning student with no previous experience in Spanish. The main objectives of this course are to help students develop effective communication skills in English through the elementary development of the following basic language skills [Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing), while focusing on and critically examining cultural beliefs, values, interactions, and solid socioeconomics-sociocultural aspects of everyday life in Hispano-American Countries.
